Acer has confirmed the availability of a 10.1-inch Aspire One netbook. The netbook comes with a widescreen LED backlit display (1024×600 pixels), an Intel Atom processor, up to 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and an optional 6-cell battery for up to to 7 hours of operation on a single charge. The Windows XP-powered netbook is based on the Mobile Intel 945GSE/82801GBM chipset. Other features include a built-in webcam, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, optional 3G or WiMAX broadband connection, and a multi-in-one media card reader.

Telstra will release the HTC Touch HD Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone on February 10th, 2009. The HTC Touch HD WVGA touchscreen handset will be available exclusively through Telstra stores and dealers for $1499 with no contract.

The Lumix ZS3 digital camera that features 12x optical zoom. Available in silver, black, blue, and red, this compact camera can record HD video (1280 x 720) at 60 frames/second in AVCHD Lite format. The video can then be displayed on an HDTV via HDMI. Other specs include a large 3-inch LCD with 460,000 pixels, a 12.7MP CCD, Intelligent Auto Mode with “face recognition” features that can remember faces that frequently appear.

This is another cool handset from Motorola. The Motorola MotoPrizm Orange is a new 2G full touchscreen phone that will be released in Korea. The phone comes with a transparent external touch layer. Designed with a vivid orange color, the MotoPrizm Orange offers a 2.8-inch WVGA touchscreen, S-DMB, a 3M built-in camera, and Bluetooth.

The new Satellite Pro S300-EZ1511 business notebook model for $529 at Toshiba Direct. The 15.4-inch (1280×800) laptop features the Intel Pentium T3400 processor running at 2.1GHz, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 120GB hard drive, and a DVD burner. Other features include 802.11 b/g wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet, a 56k modem, three USB ports, an eSATA/USB combo port, PC Card slot, DVI-D video output, Firewire, 6-in-1 media card reader, and Serial port.

Dual-sim handsets are useful for frequent travelers. One of the latest dual-sim handsets comes from the General Mobile. The DSTL1 is a GSM dual-sim phone that will be released at Mobile World Congress in the near future. The handset is powered by 624Mhz CPU, a 3 inch display (400×240), WiFi B/G, and Bluetooth. Unfortunately, there is no 3G support. The DSTL1 measures at 112 mm x 54 mm x 16mm and weighs 135grams.

Toshiba has recently released two HD camcorders, the P30 and H20. These affordable HD video cameras come with YouTube uploading and ArcSoft editing tools. Priced at $400, the BDR-203 can also write to DVD-RAM, DVD Dual-Layer R/RW, DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW.

The White PF810W and Black PF810B are the latest LED Backlight 8 inch digital photo frames from Transcend. These digital displays support most of multimedia files including JPEG, BMP, MP3, WAV, WMA and 3GP file formats. You can connect these fameras to your laptop or PC via USB or play your files from a memory card. You can purchase these digital photo frames in Japan at the end of March for €160.

Microsoft has finally released its SideWinder X8 wireless mouse that comes with BlueTrack technology that produces up to 13,000 frames per second. However, this mouse cannot be used on glass. This gaming mouse also uses the 2.4GHz wireless spectrum. Its battery is able to supply enough juice for up to 30 hours of non-stop gaming. Microsoft says the SideWinder X8 should be available this week at retailers at a suggested price of $99.95 each.

Panasonic comes back with two internet-enabled Blu-ray players that allows users to maximize their enjoyment out of BD Live-enabled discs. The Panasonic DMP-BD80 and DMP-BD60 also allows users to view YouTube videos and Picasa images on their HDTVs. The DMP-BD80 focuses more on sound quality, meanwhile the DMP-BD60 offer basic functions. Both Blu-ray players feature High-definition Audio Decoder (Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio Essential), PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus technology, 1080p Up-Conversion, SD memory card slot, and USB port.

Asus’s first ultra-portable tablet PC. The Asus Eee PC T91 is priced at between £360 ($524) and £420 ($610) in the UK. As a reminder, the T91 mini-tablet features an 8.9-inch touchscreen display with a 1,024×600 resolution and LED backlight, Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor, US15W chipset, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 32GB solid state drive with Windows XP Home pre-loaded. Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth, an Ethernet LAN port, a webcam, optional 3G and GPS connectivity. Its non-removable battery provides enough juice for up to five hours. Weighing less than 2.2 pounds, the net tablet comes in a white glossy chassis. Asustek also plans to release the Eee PC T101H, a tablet netbook with a 10-inch display.


The Sandisk ImageMate All-In-One and ImageMate Multi-Card are now available in North America. These card readers are capable of transferring 1-gigabyte of data in less than 35 seconds. Priced at $29.99, the ImageMate All-in-One reader supports SD, SDHC, miniSDHC, microSDHC, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro Duo, xD and CompactFlash. The reader can reach a speed of up to 34 MB/s with a SanDisk Extreme iV 45 MB/s CompactFlash card. Meanwhile, the ImageMate Multi-Card reader supports xD, Memory Stick, SD, SDHC, and MMC. The reader is priced at $19.99. The Multi-Card reader is capable of up to 30MB/s read and 27 MB/s write data transfer rates when using a SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition SDHC card.
