After maintaining a 2010 release for Windows 7, Microsoft’s Senior VP, Bill Veghte has confirmed that Windows 7 will be released this year. It will be out before the holiday season kicks in, which according to the previous rumor should be in October.
“We are tracking well to a Windows 7 holiday,” said Veghte and plans to reiterate at the TechEd event that starts from the coming Monday.
Microsoft recently released the release candidate of the OS and is available for download up to July 2009.
